From Research to industrial Innovation
Flugantia Lab is an Italian startup specialising in technology solutions for Industry 4.0 that come from research activities. We turn Research and Development into practical applications designed to improve production and logistics processes through a Human-in-the-Loop approach. In this model, artificial intelligence supports analysis and decision-making, while final evaluation and responsibility remain with people.
A Startup with experience and method
Our founders are entrepreneurs with long and proven experience in creating and developing industrial technology initiatives. Our mission is to turn the results of Research and Development investments into efficient and reliable industrial solutions that can be applied to real problems. For this purpose, we use our original Agile Research Framework. This working process is based on the time-resource equation of Lean methodology. It supports risk management, transparency regarding levels of effort and alignment of goals among all the parties involved.
We study how IoT sensors, artificial intelligence, digital twins and data management systems can improve the control of distributed physical assets. Our approach starts with the analysis of processes and operational challenges. Our main areas of expertise include: Industrial Internet of Things; digital twins; asset intelligence; platform interoperability; decision intelligence; explainable AI; traceability; audit trails.
A digital Ecosystem for industrial containers
Flugantia Lab is developing a digital ecosystem for industrial containers, considered both as physical assets and as digital entities. Containers are used in many production and logistics environments to move goods, materials, components and waste. Despite their operational value, information about containers is often fragmented across sensors, documents, management systems and manual procedures. Our goal is to connect these data in a consistent, secure and interoperable environment. However, the availability of data does not automatically create efficiency. Information must be collected reliably, linked to the correct asset and placed within the operational context in which it was generated. The objective is to turn separate data into structured information that helps organisations understand asset status, reconstruct events and improve process management.
Collaborating for Innovation
Flugantia Lab works with Fabbrica Italiana dell’Innovazione and the University of Naples Parthenope on the development and testing of advanced technologies. Collaboration with the research community allows us to combine scientific expertise, industrial knowledge and development capabilities. The objective is to reduce the distance between experimentation and application by turning research results into solutions that can be used in production and logistics processes.

We want to contribute to the development of a more connected and traceable industry, able to use data in a responsible and informed way. We work to make physical assets, digital representations, information systems and decision-making processes operate within reliable and interoperable ecosystems.
